I really like how you focused on the more social aspects of remaining on the island. I also like how you touched on just about all of the main characters, including them all. It's a positive sort of story, too, not focusing on killing off a bunch of people. I like the semi-theme of acceptance -- them accepting their situation, staying on the island, and also the acceptance and tolerance between all the people on the island and the way friendships have sprung up. Very well done.
oh! this was a really neat look at 5 years. i love the acceptance that pervades it. sexuality, whatever..couples, trios whatever! we could get rescued someday, hey is that a fruit?
Oh yes, this is wonderful. We are already seeing glimmers of them settling down... the golf course, Sun's herb garden... This story really rang true for me. Thank you for sharing.
This was fab! It reads like a very respectful sequel/story-in-the-same-universe to Yahtzee's Jack/Boone story that I can't remember the title to, but that's not a diss in any way. And I love the way your characterized their desire to get off the island -- it's there, but they don't dwell anymore.
This is a really fabulous story. I like how the social groups formed, shifted and reformed. I also enjoy how you thought about what life on the island would become after a few years.
Great stuff and a wonderful way to start my day. Thanks.
