Weavile was walking down the hallway, his nose deep in a book. Thankfully he had learned from past experiences and looked up every so often. He was surprised, however, when he looked up to see Ionia. With... short hair?

"That's a very nice hair cut," he stated.

"Thank you, Uncle Weavile!" She blurted.

Oh... wait. Uncle. She'd been doing it since before she even really understood what family was; the title had simply rolled off her tongue without thinking. Ionia looked to be deep in thought for a moment. "...Uncle Weavile? Does it bother you that I call you Uncle?"

That was certainly an odd question to ask. At first, Weavile had accepted the title simply to humor her makeshift image of what family meant, but after a while, it had become a rather tender, familiar nickname.

"No, it doesn't. Why do you ask?"

It seemed that Ionia had done more than just cut her hair lately.

"We are not really family, right? You are not Papa's brother and you are not a Pikmin," Ionia explained. "I thought that if you just cared about a person then you were family, so I just decided that we were without asking. I understand what a family is now so I thought that I should be sure that you wanted to be called it."

Luck was sorta-kinda on Falcon's side that day; sure enough, Ionia did happen to be passing on by.

Unfortunately, she was staring ahead very fixedly with the crossest of frowns locked onto her face. It was very abundantly clear that she was perfectly content to pretend that there were no Papas in the vicinity and she was therefore going on to mosey on by uninterrupted. That defiant pout all but dared him to even try otherwise. Yes, she was most likely going to get a talking-to for skipping class. No, she did not care. That was the power of her adolescent fury.

Sure, lucky that Ionia's path brought her here, but he wasn't sure if that good fortune would continue.

Obviously, Falcon didn't expect her to acknowledge him. It was difficult, however, to ignore her makeover--he might not have been a very good surrogate father, but he certainly recognized rebellious behavior when he saw it. At least it wasn't a tattoo.

Surprising, nonetheless, and Falcon couldn't help but voice it as she passed, even if she decided not to answer (which was probably likely). "You cut your hair."

Well, she didn't ignore him completely.

She did, however, give him a long, flat stare that would have done Vianca proud. If she wasn't speaking to Falcon when they were talking about actually important things, then there was no chance she ever deign to comment on a small-talk observation like that.

After bestowing Falcon with her finest unimpressed look, Ionia turned to once again continue on her not-so-merry way.

Vianca made a point of trying to spot her sister everyday, even if the other might not have noticed. This day was no different, though what she found was a surprise. It was enough of one to prompt the red head to go to Ionia's side.

"Sister," she greeted, watching her somewhat impassively despite her curiosity. "Your hair...?"

"Sister!" Whoa, Ionia hadn't even noticed Vianca coming her way. It was a little hard to tell whether her sister was shocked or delighted by Ionia's sudden makeover; some small part of Ionia vaguely hoped that she approved. Ionia had spoken very little with Vianca since her return, but she'd always carried a vague feeling that most of the things she said and did stirred up some vague sense of disapproval.

...Not that Ionia could blame her. She had been a very bad sister -- chosen willfully to be one, in fact. "...Do you like it?" She ventured, one hand rising up to self-consciously smooth down her much-shortened locks.

A lot of things sort of did stir up some disapproval from Vianca, but when you were the stick in the mud sister, it was hard to avoid that. She was trying though, in her own little ways. Biting her tongue when some things were said, keeping her mouth a straight line instead of frowning when some things were done. Now if only she knew how to work the rest of her facial muscles she'd be on the way to maybe being a sister Ionia wouldn't mind spending time with. Maybe.

Today, however, was not that day. It was clear that she was giving the new do a lot of thought, but what exactly those thoughts entailed of were a grand mystery. Then Vianca nodded her head. "It suits you," she said with as much warm approval her voice was capable of.

"It seems like a sudden change?

"I am going to do a lot of changing." Ionia nodded. "Things have happened." She looked uncertain for a moment -- but only a moment; uncertainly really didn't suit her. If she was going to change, then everything should change. Maybe she wasn't going to be a Pikmin anymore, but that didn't mean she couldn't be a sister. She didn't think Vianca understood a lot about her, but maybe it would take a Pikmin to really get some things. So she thrust her hand out towards Vianca.

"Let's go for a walk, sister. Can I tell you about it, please?"

Goombella found a bunch of blue hair in their dorm after Ionia left and she returned. She naturally reasoned it must belong to Ionia, but the amount of it... Something was definitely wrong. She wouldn't have cut all that hair off without going to a barber, not unless something had happened. Maybe someone came to kidnap her and yanked her hair out. Or maybe she turned into Britney Spears cut it all off in anger. Either way, Goombella decided she had to find Ionia.

When she eventually found Ionia out on the school grounds, she ran up to her. "Thank goodness I found you! Are you okay? Did something happen?" she asked worriedly.

LEAVE IONIA ALONEEEEE

Ionia was, to say the least, surprised. She hadn't even spared a single thought to the mess she'd left back in the room -- she'd been far too preoccupied at the time with finding Nancy and begging for help righting the nightmare she'd made of her head. So Goombella's concern was met with little more than an utterly puzzled stare.

"I am fine, Goombella. What is wrong?"

"Well, you see," she began, fixing her glasses, "I got back to the dorm and found blue hair all over the place, so I was worried something bad had happened to you! But it looks like you're okay... Did something happen?" At the most she was expecting to hear something like Ionia got gum in her hair and tried to cut it out, and one thing led to another.

"Oh... I am sorry, Goombella. I will clean the mess up." Oops. "Nothing bad happened. I am safe. I just decided that I am going to grow up now. I am tired of depending on the wrong people and so I am going to do things for myself instead."

...Which really didn't have a lot to do with hair. "I thought that if I was going to be different, I should be different all over," she added. "Hair does not grow back right away so I thought getting rid of it would mean I would not go back on my promise to change inside too."
