Something I stumbled across in morning forum browsing that really struck my upside the head, in a good way. This was in response to a thread where the OP was asking about a career in concept art, and the viability of it. Also, interested me since they were from Oz as well and I'm much in the same situation. (original forum thread)

That's so true. I'm also fighting the pigeonhole traps, it's frustrating as anything. Good luck with your new battle plan!

It's just a shame that it's only really been obvious to me in the past year or so, I just think back at all that wasted time and opportunity.

But yeah, I reckon there can only be good in diversifying your skillset and being good at several styles/mediums. That, and you therefore have a wider range of jobs available to you :)
