|15| The Longest Night [Filtered to the Silvana]

If anyone happens to be looking for me on Long Night, I'm afraid I'll be unavailible. I'll be spending the evening in meditation. It sooths the soul, you see, and I've found that it does me a world of good even if I do it for just one day every year. It's kind of a tradition, you see ( Read more... )

I don't supposed it would do any good to ask you to just go away and never come back?

Well now. You must be feeling better, taicho. How's the inner dragon? Still silent?

How does meditation do you much good if you only do it once a year? I meditate every day for at least a few hours, because I was taught that it's pointless otherwise. Have you learned a way to overcome this?

I'm not to be nosy or anything, I was just wanted to share notes!

Oh, I don't mind at all. I'm happy to share what I know, although in this case I'm not sure how applicable my methods are to other people. I suppose it's not so much a regular kind of meditation as it is a yearly ritual to clense the soul...And I find I only need to do it once a year because my soul just doesn't get especially troubled.

Ah, I see. Then you are not so much avid in your meditations as you just simply enjoy the relaxation it offers once a year.

It must be nice to have that unburdened of a soul. I really didn't know it was even possible.

I do sometimes indulge in a lesser form of meditation every so often when I need to get in touch with my inner self, but these days I don't need too much focus to establish that kind of trance.

Yes, I've come to see that I'm actually rather unusual in that respect. Unfortunately it's not something that can be taught. It's just a matter of personal enlightenment...a state of Zen.
