You still should have known better than to be walking around on that leg of yours. Are you trying to ensure you'll have a limp for the rest of your life? While it's very admirable that you'd want to emulate Doctor Watson I think you'll find it's not a character trait the ladies find particularly endearing.

Some of them were a little too enthusiastic in sharing their concern. You'd think I'd told them I was dying.

Maybe next time I should. Perhaps they'd at least have the courtesy to bring flowers next time.
