I'm still alive - and I'm fighting. I'm attempting to find the thing's weakness... it seems to sap the energy of my spells.

That's something I haven't tried yet. The creature's teeth didn't, but shadowstuff imitating enamel isn't cold steel by any stretch of the imagination.
