Title: "Customary Strangeness"

I'm not sure I can hear Ianto saying "weirdness"-- doesn't seem like a Iantoish (an Iantoish?) word. That's almost certainly just me *shrug*. Other than that, I just kind of wished there were more... something to it. Not sure what. (Yeah, I know- real helpful, right?

Admittedly, this one wasn't very deep and was all about the punchline. I hadn't thought about "weirdness" not being a very Ianto-flavored word. I may have to muse on that a bit.

Ah me, I remember going on Calennig when I was young - although we never had fancy stuff like that! Not that we ever got that much, but it was the thought that counted.
And Mari Lwyd? Two words: scared and stiff, although that might have been because we had a very imaginative leader with a way with words and a bloody terrifyingly realistic Mari Lwyd.
Hmmmm, you may have started something brewing...

Really, any tradition that encourages wassail-type home invasion, tests of wit, and drinking sounds like a good time.

I do remember thinking, during voting, that it lacked a little bit of oomph-- but I suspect that's partly cultural. I didn't know anything about Calinneg or Mari Lwyd until I read the footnotes; if I had, the punchline would have definitely deserved a giggle. XD It got one the second time around, at least.
Are you Welsh?

I suppose that's the beauty of an optional round. You can take crazy risks and get away with it!
