I haven't been around much recently.. Sorry. >.I have a question for you guys..  It's my boyfriend's birthday in a few days, and I'm kinda hitting a brick wall with stuff to write on his card (yes, I am really this pedantic

I had the same problem when it came to my boyfriend's birthday at the end of March. I couldn't find the right card so I just bought a simple one and wrote my own message inside. I can't remember exactly what I said, but it was something along the lines of 'birthdays are an excellent excuse to tell you how much you mean to me and how lucky I am to have you in my life'. I got him a card for one of our anniversaries as well and it has a cartoon on the front of Charlie Chaplin and inside it said "A day without laughter is a day wasted" which is one of his quotes. Most of our relationship is built on laughing and our senses of humour etc so it was quite fitting. If you can find something like that, I think he'd really like it. My boyfriend did - it's simple but it completely conveyed the message of how valuable each day with him is and how much fun I have with him. Shockingly enough, sometimes what we really want to say has been said succinctly by someone else!

Chris (boyfriend) put both the cards open on his wall right next to his desk. :) It made my week when I saw that. The cufflinks sound wonderful! Is it the first birthday he's had that you've been with him for? This one was for us, since we've only been together 4 months this weekend (!!!) and I think first birthdays are probably the hardest because there's a standard to set, for one, and for two, you don't know each other that well yet. We take turns cooking for each other instead of going out because we're both poor, broke students and so I bought a black and white recipe book and wrote all the things we had made together inside it along with some pictures of us, also in black and white. I think I liked it as much as he did and I intend to keep adding to it for him, or he can keep adding to it, until it's full!

He is pretty awesome. I'm a very happy/lucky girl :) Your boyfriend sounds great too!

Yeah, this is the first birthday I will have with him (it was our two month last Thursday :D). And I agree, it probably will be the hardest, seeing as how I will have known hi the least..

That recipe book sounds brilliant! That's so cool! :D

And he is great.. He's the sweetest guy I've ever met. I love him :)
