Entering the Great Hall from one of the side entrances, he took a deep breath as he looked around. Well, maybe Umbridge had gotten her point of view changed. Ok, that wasn't likely, but it was worth a shot. Seeing Sirius situated up near the head table, he mentally winced. Sirius and an Umbridge announcement could not be good... Hopefully Sirius would be able to keep his cool. Making his way up to the head table, he took his seat next to Severus, the somber and annoyed looks on everyone's faces making him a bit more nervous.

Hearing the announcement as she finished changing in the Hufflepuff dorms, she frowned slightly. Why was there an announcement and who was this Umbridge person to give one? Casting a drying charm on her hair, she made her way down to the Great Hall. She waved at Alex before heading to the Hufflepuff table. Sitting beside Violet, she began to ask the other girl a question, but at the incrediably peeved look on her face, she decided that was a bad idea and looked around the Great Hall, wishing she could be sitting at the Ravenclaw table instead.

Standing up by the other end of the head table from Sirius, he grumbled slightly as he pulled at the collar of his dress robes and shifted uncomfortably. He'd be jumping for joy when this was over and they got to get out of these stupid robes. Not to mention the tension would be better and he wouldn't have to worry about Sirius biting his head off. He wondered if he could fudge a reason into his letters to be at Hogwarts rather than off in Europe so he could actually write to Cho about this....

Umbridge scurried her way to the front of the room, once more flanked by Pyrite. She smiled benevolently and waited for the room to quiet down. Eventually it did ( ... )

The headmistress stood as Umbridge made her way to the back of the room.

"Thank you, Minister," she said, a terse smile gracing her face as she opened her arms. "To the students of Beauxbatons, welcome most heartily to hogwarts. May you find this to be your home away from home. We shall have a sorting ceremony this evening at dinner to assign you to houses while you are here. Any problems or questions can be directed towards the prefects or any of the staff members."

"As for our new line of defence, we thank the Minister for considerin the safety of the school," she said before sitting back down. "Classes are normal for the afternoon. Seventh years from Beauxbatons, talk to the prefects about class schedules. Quidditch trials for all four houses will be held tomorrow."

Tensing at the table, he swallowed hard as he saw the large lumbering 'man' stomp into the Great Hall. She couldn't seriously be planning on those helping the Aurors and taking over the guard duties at Azkaban. Sure they were virtually invunerable and indestructable, but they couldn't be left in charge of anything important. They'd either take an order too literally, not question an order when they should, go berserk if they lost their commander, or gain a sense of self and go on a rampage. He sighed. But they looked impressive... And when looks counted, they did make a good point... Hopefully these 'bodyguards' wouldn't cause too much trouble...

Watching carefully as Umbridge left, she motioned to the hall that the meeting was dismissed. Making her way over to Remus and pulled him aside.

"Remus, a word if you please," she said, leaning her head in before motioning to the room just off the Great Hall.

Victoria had hardly had three minutes to squeeze her way into the Great Hall when she heard a large and rather obtrusive person scuttle her through the Great Hall and take her place at the front of the Great Hall. Seated at the very edge of the staff table, Victoria settled her eyes on the fork and spoon that were in front of her(since, quite frankly, they were much prettier than the backside of Dolores Umbridge), and listened half-heartedly to her speech. It began to get interesting, however, when the example of the new line of defense at both Hogwarts and Azkaban. That, my friends, was interesting.

Although it wasn't much of her concern whether or not these lugs lumbered their way through the school she had matters to attend to at Azkaban, and she wasn't sure if it would be entirely plausible with this new line of defense. Only time would tell, she supposed.

Hm.
