Time for another post.

Having decided to enter the Muramasa contest, I went and started sketching. I now have a rough pencil draft, and am letting it sit for a day so that I can better catch mistakes tomorrow. As such, I figured why not document the process! And ask for critique while I was at it!

Therefore, the current pencils. )

I like the angle on the first better. It's kind of at an angle that draws the viewer in, if that makes any sense? 8D;;

It does make sense~ I was leaning toward that one myself, but still torn. Thanks!

1. I like the vertical one better. Rather, I would keep it shifted like that but widen it a bit? Not like completely square, but. . . Hmm, you know an action scene where you get black on top and bottom to focus on the center? So, it draws in more while hinting at the background? I-I can doodle what I mean if you don't understand.

2. WHAT IS THE NAME OF THAT CAR? I saw it on the highway one time and I am just. . . Obsessed with it. Sotiny, socute, somine.

No, I know what you mean! And, I do have things planned for the colour/inking to go further than my normal colouring does in terms of mood and contrast, so... we'll see! 8D; Thank you. =]

Ummm, I dunno, smart cars is what I always hear them called. They're popular in Europe! =D I didn't know they were highway safe though, ahahaha.

Welcome. o/ I'm interested in seeing how it comes out. You've got some great action going.

I don't think they are safe per se, but hey.

I like the horizontal one, personally -- the characters seem more central, whereas for the vertical one that diagonal right behind the girl's yanks my eye right to the background.

Your kitty is SO CUTE OMG. Little paws! *smooches*

Good to know. Thank you for the feedback! I wonder if the diagonal will be so attention grabbing when it's coloured...? ::planning to present the finished one both vertical and horizontal to see if opinions change::

Heeee~ thanks! I will pass the smooches on to him~

Welcome to the life of a freeter, man! Like so many of our (loosely speaking) generation. The pay sucks, but the freedom is good.

And I like the first one myself - it seems more dynamic~!

Wikipedia knows all!

Freeter (フリーター, furītā?) (other spellings below) is a Japanese expression for people between the age of 15 and 34 who lack full time employment or are unemployed, excluding homemakers and students. They may also be described as underemployed or freelance workers. [...] The low income makes it difficult for freeters to start a family, and the lack of qualifications makes it difficult to start a career at a later point in life.
