Boku to Kanojo no XXX/Your and My Secret jdrama - 7/7, completed. Shy boy and his hellcat crush switch bodies due to a science experiment gone wrong. Havoc ensues as the boy is a lot more eager to change back than girl is and various obstacles keep getting in their way. It's amusing enough and went very quickly, but I deleted the files off my ( Read more... )

I quite liked Spice & Wolf, myself, but then again, I like slow and off-beat stuff, too. I don't mind action-y things, of course! But I like a nice slow ambiance once in a while... and it had a fantastic soundtrack, too. <3

I've been really curious about Allison & Lilia. A friend let me listen to the OP, and that alone made me want to watch it. So pretty. And it has Kuricorder Quartet in it, which is win in my book any day.

Hmmm, there's another one offbeat that you might like. It's called Moyashimon, and it's about... agricultural school and microbes. No, seriously. And it's freaking hilarious. This kid can "see" microbes, and it follows his misadventures through the school. It's only thirteen episodes, too.

HI HOW ARE YA, good to talk to you again? I know it's been a while... XD;

I think part of it may have been that I was watching Spice and Wolf in the evenings during end-of-the-semester woes and really didn't want to do any thinking. All I really wanted were explosions and/or make out scenes. LOL

The music on Allison & Lillia is nice, and some of the scenic shots remind me of Miyazaki. I think it may be the combination of bucolic scenery and flying machines. Not that I'd put it on par with a Miyazaki film. But, you know, kicked in the head by a deer. Pwns all.

Moyashimon sounds my kind of quirky! I'll have to add that to the list.

AND I'VE BEEN GOOD! HOW 'BOUT YOU? XD

Hahahahah, that's true. I needed some downtime when I watched Spice and Wolf, so that may be why I enjoyed it so much. It's also got a lot of ambiance, and a wonderful soundtrack, and the easiest way to lure me into a good series is to have a fantastic soundtrack. The fastest way to my heart is through my ears~

I really will have to check out Allison & Lillia, though. Has it been released domestically? I've read good things about it, but hearing good testimonies from a friend is definitely good enough for me. And they have Kuricorder Quartet in the OP. I mean, it doesn't get any cooler than that. *nerds*

Do check out Moyashimon! It's absolutely hilarious. I haven't laughed that hard at an anime in a really long time. I also enjoyed Black Lagoon, but it's pretty violent, so I don't know if it'll be your cup of tea. (I normally don't like stuff like that, but it's pretty well-done. Great characters, great character interaction. And a few Crowning Moments of Awesome, too.)

yay!! you are watching Kimi ni Todoke AND Maid-Sama!!! I really enjoyed the anime adaptation of KnT.. did you read the manga? I actually like the Maid-Sama anime more than the manga... somehow the tsundere and the smirk translate so much better in this medium.

I'm def gonna start Allison to Lillia after reading your wonderful summary.. you should watch Arakawa Under the Bridge and Hakuoki: Shinsengumi Kitan too! One is a crazy romantic comedy with philosophical undertones and the other is a historical reverse harem (lots of hot men with swords)

anyway! yay again! I love how we always have at least one series in common at any given time ;) you have to make a post about which mangas you're reading right now too! I always get good recs from you. have you ventured into fandom/fanfics for any new series?

I've been meaning to respond to you for a whole week! Apparently, I'm horrible at this whole "intentions" thing.

I do have some eps of Arakawa Under the Bridge downloaded; just haven't started it yet. Will have to look into the Shinsengumi harem thing, mmmmm. I haven't read the KnT or Maid-sama manga yet.

I'm way behind on my manga reading at this point. I lost a lot of files when I had to do the unexpected destructive system recovery on my desktop a few months ago. :/ I need to catch up with Fullmetal Alchemist, UDDUP, and Kekkaishi, I know. I want to start Eyeshield 21 and Soul Eater because I've made the mistake of reading fic for them because I found people's icons interesting, and ho boy! ::waves Hiruma/Mamori and Soul/Maka flags::
