SEEKING RECS: Couple Archetype #2

The argumentative lovers, aka the Prideful and Prejudiced. Because I'm twelve. You know the ones. There's usually a misunderstanding when they first meet, and the pair spends the journey on their road to romantic bliss playing sharpen-the-dagger at one another's throats. Wacky hijinks and much snark ensues. But when the fireworks happen, man, ( Read more... )

You might've seen it already, but Delightful Girl Choon-Hyung has a really cool snarky girl and badass guy. I haven't watched much of it, but it's pretty fun so far.

Lesse....Oishii Proposal is another good one! Much snarky fun.

I think I started Choon-Hyung over Christmas and then got distracted by my old computer's melt down. I think I got maybe 4 or 5 eps in; I'll have to pick that one up again. (I do remember wishing that older guy would leave because come on! Decades between them! He's a good looking man; what's wrong with him?!)

Oishii Proposal is new this season isn't it? Like a stop-the-wedding, go-back-in-time thing? (I've been downloading Liar Game and Sexy Voice and Robo because I find the premises intriguing but I haven't watched any of them yet.)

I've only seen the first two episodes, actually. XD;; The second episode downloaded incompletely so there was a problem with the file, and then I got distracted by some Jdramas ( ... )

Hmmm... take it you are looking for some trashy romance reading.. OK... lets see.

A Taste of Crimson by Marjorie M. Liu - She's a Werewolf, he's a vampire.
Dark Side of The Moon by Sherrylyn Kenyon - He's a (can't remember if he's a leopard-were or panther-were) She's allergic to cats
Hunter's Moon by Lori Handeland - She's a werewolf hunter - he's a werewolf.

I'm sure I'll think of some others but those come to mind

Trashy or so-chaste-they-can't-touch-without-blushing, it's all good! My tastes run the gamut so less-smutty recs are welcome as well if you have any of those.

*adds yours to library list* Oooh, I haven't read any paranormal romances in a while!

I've recently gotten into the Harry/Draco fandom (OMG) and into Stephen King (not much in the way of romance) but I do remember a couple of books that made me go all soft and gooey inside.

Companions of the Night - Vivian Van Velde
Twilight - Stephanie Meyer

I read the first one while I was about twelve and I can't really remember it all that well, but I think it's still a pretty good book. The second one contains way too many descriptions of alabaster skin and is basically all you could want in a vampire novel (i.e. OTT descriptions of hot vampires). XDD

And you're how old now? ;PPPPPP *inserts obligatory weeping for the children here*

I love VVV! I just finished A Well-Timed Enchantment yesterday! (I also have Heir Apparent and my favorite, Dragon Bait) She's going on the list.

Vampire novels, heehee! Oh, if only I felt guilty about my guilty pleasures! I have been curious about Stephanie Meyer since her book is always displayed very prominently in the stores here. *adds*

Have you read Crown Duel by Sherwood Smith? (Er, or Crown Duel/Court Duel, the one I bought was combined into one book). There's a HUGE misunderstanding. And lots of witty banter. I've read this (extremely long...because 2 books) at least six times (and I would have done more but I lost it -___-).

Yes, I have! ^______^ Got the double-book at Goodwill for $0.99 back in July. You should try Goodwill and the Salvation Army. You can get lots of books in good condition for really cheap, and it's like a treasure hunt.

Any other recs? In general, not-keeping-with-the-theme recs are okay too.

I have a fic rec!! Fenikkusuken's The Phoenix Blade: Time Lapse. Fricking hilarious but awesome AU-ish rewriting of the Inuyasha series as we know it. It's still in progress, but there's definitely plenty to enjoy. =D

ALSO, general book rec: the Troy Game series by Sara Douglass. Sex, love, betrayal, ambition, death, rebirth, magic, plot twists, and bombshells, this series has it all. It's all amazingly written, with lots of historical accuracy (when appropriate) and GAH. I love this series now that I've finally finished reading it. When I have time (a.k.a. after this quarter ends) I'm going to reread the whole series. =D

If you can't tell, I really need someone to gush over this series with me. ^^
