I gave up on Libre Office, and bought a Microsoft Office subscription. Word is much better at layouts, though still kind of a pain. But it's starting to look pretty.

Would you consider sharing the files when they're finished so that we might pay to have them printed ourselves?

Yes if you're going through all this trouble and are morally opposed to selling (or just legally concerned), it would still make sense to share. On the flipside, I've done something similar and made a book just for myself (though not this in depth!), so I understand the desire. On the other, third hand, I would still like it ha ha.
