The end came too soon!ext_1204110May 11 2012, 13:05:04 UTC
I wasn't ready for this book to end so quickly. Amazing developments. I think the Grannies are already making the new wand for Alexandra and I can't wait for that meeting to happen. She certainly gave her father something to think about. I hope he steps up and helps her AND shares more information. Like Harry Potter she does better with more information than less.
Thanks for the great read - I have enjoyed every chapter.
Where did Alexandra's wand go?

Great conclusion to the book. It's going to be a (subjectively) long wait for the next one.
One small question: what happened to Alexandra's wand? It was last shown just out of her reach when she was held down to the ground by stone hands, but she never picked it up, and it was John's wand that she destroyed. Is it still in the cave? Has it been found and just not returned to her?

John destroyed it at the end of chapter 37.
John gripped the ends of her wand in both hands and snapped it over his knee. There was a greenish flash and wisps of black smoke curled out of its ends. He tossed the broken halves away.
This is such a sad, melancholic ending. It doesn't feel like a cliffhanger to me, since I am simply feeling bad for Alex, the child of your pen (eh, keyboard), but it really is. This cries out for the sequel (should I coin the neologism pentaquel?) really soon.
AQ and the Wizard's Association? ;-)
I concur that you get teenagers well. But I am surprized Alex didn't even try to explain that she did not provoke anything, Larry Albo did.
I also wonder, based on AT's reaction, whether the Nemesis is really free to roam in and out of the LB.
Please, please please, help us and fill the void really soon.
"But I am surprized Alex didn't even try to explain that she did not provoke anything, Larry Albo did."
As if that would have made any difference. She was already on double triple probation to the power of infinity +1 even the sneaking out of bounds on its own would have justified expulsion leave alone loosing a Chindi on the childern.
