Climbing the mountain of TBR books

calico_reaction pointed me to the Mount TBR Reading Challenge 2012.

This is perfect for me. I have so many books lying around that I've been meaning to get to "someday." So I am taking up the challenge, and counting only books that I actually own, as physical print books, right now.

I am setting a modest goal of Mt. Vancouver (25 books), since I will still be ( Read more... )

I've got Ship of Fools in my TBR as well. :) Just finished Silently and Very Fast last week, and I'm hoping to post my review of Straying from the Path this week. :) Fledgling was quite enjoyable, but then again, I love Butler's work.

BTW: you're braver than I am -- if I made a list, I'd avoid reading all the books on the list! :)

Sadly, today's the last day to sign up for that challenge. I don't know why the host made such an early deadline, but oh well.

Yeah, that was pointed out to me elsewhere. I suspect it was more of a case where I just misread it. :)

I don't actually have even half of the lowest challenge amount in physical, unread books. Much as I love books and reading, I generally don't buy them unless I'm planning on reading them right away/very soon, and I mostly do. I think if I went digging...I might have 3-4, and at least one of those was given to me, but that's it...

You could always buy a bunch of books in December for it. >_>

I am a lame loser, unfortunately. :(

Seriously though, considering how this semester went, I'm not going to make that kind of commitment, lol. I might change my mind later, though.

On a different subject: I beat NaNoWriMo this year!! :D

My problem is not reading that amount of books - it's getting them. I have about 10 books on my current TBR list. I'll probably buy at least ten more for Hannukah, but by the time they arrive, it'll be after January 1st. So... I'll have to reorganize my TBR list once again, and see what I'm going to read/buy in what time and what order. I'm hoping I can keep up with you.
