Summary: It wasn't fair. He promised.
Aoi watched Uruha walking to his next class with some friends. New friends Uruha had introduced when they met in the hallway about a year ago. He sighed and started walking away. It had been almost a week since he last talked to Uruha, and he really misses him.
He was the only friend that Aoi talked to about his problems when they were in high school. Of course he had Ruki and Kai, but it was different with Uruha. It was like they had a special connection with each other. But that connection seemed to be falling apart. They were falling far apart.
(Flashback)
“HEY! Don’t do that.” Kai just laughed, pulling Ruki’s hair once more and ran to the door. Ruki glared at the brunette and sat down beside Uruha.
“Aww Ru. It’s ok. I won’t let him pull your hair again.” A blonde boy pulled Ruki into a bear hug. Ruki struggled from Uruha’s grasp.
“Let me go you gigantic cat. I can’t breath!”
Aoi laughed at the sight. It was so cute.
“Uru I think you should let him go.” He said glancing at Kai who was walking towards them grinning like a maniac. “We’re supposed to be talking about something important, remember?”
The other two gave Aoi a confused look. He smiled faintly and motioned Kai to sit beside him.
“Well, Uruha and I were thinking of going to this university, it looks good really and we were wondering if you’d like to check it out.” Aoi held out the application form and brochures. The two took it and looked at the papers. “They have these interesting courses like Multimedia Arts, Export Management and other courses that other schools don’t offer.”
Uruha cleared his throat. “I’m going to be studying there. I already told my mom and she agreed. I’m taking up Consular and Diplomatic Affairs and I -“
“OH MY GOSH! They have Music Production! I likey~.” Ruki gawked at the papers. He poked Kai on the shoulders. “We should try here. It looks good.”
“I applied at a lot of colleges already. I’m waiting for their response.” Uruha made a gagging sound and Kai shrugged. “But I guess we could try it out.”
Uruha stood up. “Now that’s settled, we have to make a promise to each other.”
The other three stared at Uruha.
“We have to promise we won’t change. I heard some people change when they go to college and I don’t want to be one of them. And I really don’t want our friendship to change.”
(End of flashback)
Ruki and Kai were still the same. Why wasn’t Uruha? It wasn’t fair. He promised. Aoi walked out of the back gate of the main campus. His eyes glued to the ground, watching every step he made.
“You shouldn’t walk like that. You might bump into someone.”
