Ahh, I really want to read Ancillary Justice. It doesn't sound at all like my kind of thing but people have been losing their shit left, right and centre about it. Your review is the first I've read that's been anything less than "EHHRRMAGOD!" but I still wanna read it. :) It's kind of refreshing to get a slightly more realistic expectation. Expecting reading it will happen in January.

It's one of those books that even if I'd liked it less, I'd be glad I read it because at least I'd know what everybody is on about.

I think this might be one of those rare books that I throw into the "Did Not Finish" pile, to be honest. :( I'm 50 pages in (and I'd normally give something more of a chance) and I think it's way too deep into SF for me to even have the foggiest what's going on and why I should care. :(

Last time I had this was with Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy - I think I got about 90 pages into that and was, just, "Well, everyone has fifty names and is a spy... I think?" and realised I should just quit. :(
