Play Therapy

Today Moo had his second session of Play therapy.  His Therapist's name is Mimi and when I told him, "We're going to play with Mimi," it registered, but he *also* heard, "We're going to play with Minnie," and when we were done with Therapy asked when were going to see Minnie Mouse.

Children express their grief differently. Don't doubt the power of play - it's an incredible healing tool.

Agreed -- it's also a very powerful tool for development in general. It has amazed me to see how much my son has been able to accomplish through therapist-directed play.

My son Maddox was very close to his great-grandmother. It's not the same loss but I think the process is similar (please accept my apologies if it's not ( ... )

Up
