Adventures in the Cayman Islands, part 1

I was waiting for mc_questionmark to post about our trip because he is a better writer than me and he's wittier. :) Unfortunately, he has decided to pick up where he left off before vacation.... he's rented Final Fantasy again. He will probably be in video game land for quite some time. Which means, you get me. I will do my best

Well then, I suppose it's pay back from when you went to Thailand and lived in Korea. :) It's only fair that I get to have a bit of fun too!

Actually, I haven't seen all that many of your pictures from Korea. Do you suppose I could come over and see them sometime?

Remind me to tell you about my first experience scuba diving in Hawai and the turtle that made it my last scuba diving excursion (ever) :)

I had a great time! It was both relaxing and tiring, a perfect trip.

I definitely want to hear about your scuba diving adventure. I am already imagining all sorts of things. I hope you don't keep me in suspense for too long. :)

The long and short...

Begrudgingly took scuba lessons in nice clear pool on Kauai(didn't want to appear chickenish with newly minted fiance). Didn't like it but determined to tough it out.

1)certification dive, water was brackish.
2)swam the wrong way
3)got lost
4)turtle swam/hovered at my face twice.
5)swam for my life to the surface forgetting to inflate my vest or clear my ears.
6)Flailed pathetically at the surface with 40lb tank pulling me down until instructor found me.
7)Ashamed and whimpering "turtle... turtle" I gave up and swam to shore.
8)Sat in the car listening to Aloha Friday on the radio while my fiance finished the dive.
9)Vowed to never dive again.
10)Accepted I am chicken.

To this day flinch every time I see footage of turtle in the ocean.

That does not sound fun at all! You are far more brave than I am! I wouldn't even go snorkeling. We went to stingray city and the first stop is snorkeling. I had my flippers and mask on and I was almost ready to go, then I chickened out. mc_questionmark went with the other tourists. I stayed on the boat with three other wimps. :)

At least you can find it funny now. Was the rest of your trip enjoyable? I've always wanted to go there. My husband has been to Hawaii twice and I was definitely jealous!

I'm happy you remember I was there last night! (...just kidding, it's fun to tease) The trip was the blastiest of blasty trips. It was great fun. I'm sure when you go to Charleston I will be jealous of you... maybe, what's in Charleston?

Thanks for showing BOTH of us your biking pics last night. They were fun. I hope you got a pic of a beaver today, that'd be even better. :)
