If death is the only certainty in life, then why delay the inevitable?

1. Maybe you or someone else will invent some immortality treatment or discover something significant?
2. Biological necesity generally provides that one do all within their power to survive, reproduce, and protect their offspring. Simple instinct.
3. Life's pretty fun, one might as well have a good time while one's alive.

In my physics laboratory, there's some posters on the walls about the different physics accomplishments found over the last century or so, arranged by decade. Nearly all the discoveries and advancements were built on previous ones, so even if one makes a small contribution to the world, it can be built upon by future generations.

Small world. How do you know them both? I went to middle and high school with Dave, and high school (I went to several high schools, all over the country) with Nichole.
