I remember reading somewhere that INTJs are most hurt by those they care about. And while they don't show it, they feel more deeply then other types.

I'm know that those I trust I care about can hurt me very badly. The rest of the world I don't care about. But yeah I get hurt very badly, and angst worse then most of my friends, I just usually don't show it. (Shrugs).

Easier to simply not care about anyone, I've found. =3

I agree--that one makes no sense.

As for the others--yes, I believe our Introverted F tertiary function can be a lot deeper than people (or even we ourselves) expect when we feel hurt or especially betrayed by someone we care about. And, because it is tertiary and introverted, we don't have the "finesse" with emotions that Fs do and can become overwhelmed when it rears its ugly head.

Mm. It didn't make sense to me too. I just sort of switched "spouse" to "close ones," then it started making sense. :P

And as for why it could be painful, I'm assuming the second point is directly linked to the first. Or, perhaps, it could be under the circumstances that I (or any other INTJ) have been hurt badly by said spouse/close one.

I think it's referring to meeting your spouse during divorce proceedings.

I agree. I find when it happens, it's often because they do not realize just how far they're pushing me, because I am maintaining as much control as I am able for as long as possible, and then they are utterly aghast how violently I can react. It is not, however, a common occasion, the full, brutal, surge of pain.

Having been under a lot of stress recently, I have found myself experiencing the first point. I'm not sure about the second as I've never been in that situation. Considering my current feelings, I don't think it would be a problem.
