So, in a way, it's almost an improvement.

And the Supply Center? It was hit hard. Very low on food, we just might starve this week, hard.

Oh boy, family meeting.

Well, an army of Zombies haven't tried to break down my front door, so this place still has a slight edge on back home I'd say.

Well...I've thought up a plan for that, but, uh, you're not going to like it.

Better than a corporate meeting.

Crabs and a pink psycho did though.

...do I ever like your plans?

Granted, this family meeting is a LOT better than Raith family meetings...

Yeah, and we kicked their ass. Though in both cases I did have to get a new front door...

Hey, my plans are perfect! It's just the Universe gets jealous of their perfection and decides to meddle.

I can imagine. Probably less back stabbing and orgies.

I can help with some of the 'shopping' list.

I'll be at the meeting.

Thanks Tink. If you can find supplies, let Thomas know so he can help you do the lifting.

I've been able to carry lost things on my own before, it shouldn't be a problem.

But these lost things are much larger than what I'm used to...

Yes...but you don't want some crabs to attack while you're hands are full. Thomas is great for getting between you and danger.

Things just keep getting better and better.

Looks like it's the gas, I can't even get a bunsen burner going. Which means someone either shut off the supply to the island, or there's a massive break in the line around here, which we should probably find before someone lights a match in the wrong part of town.

And there's another day gone, according to the computer. I feel like I got run over by a truck.

Don't they always?

Good idea. There should be some kind of chart of the gas lines in one of the government buildings, and I wouldn't be too surprised if there's a copy in that library of yours. Course, this means whoever is behind this has access to the gas and water mains on top of everything else...

Makes three days those assholes jerks owe us. Guess they just hate the holidays.

First the wildlife decides to take a piece out of me, then this. It's fantastic.

I'll take a look around. The library furnace looks like it's working fine, it's just not getting any gas. Right now we're bringing as many buckets of snow inside as we can so it can melt.

Unfortunately, with this much snow on the ground, my planter boxes outside are probably a lost cause. I put a layer of leaves down on it when it first started getting cold, but it's useless buried in snow. It'll be a month at the soonest I can get anything going out of the greenhouse Mia showed me, but that won't help our immediate food situation, and I'll need a lot of help.

I only know of twice. What was the third?

When it rains, it pours...and then it turns out to be acid rain.

Good idea. Be sure to boil it, since Manhattan streets are the exact opposite of hygienic.

Damn. It was a good idea at least. We'll have to come up with something else.

It was way back in August. A Sunday went missing like this one, but after everyone felt really weak and our powers were almost gone.

I have blankets here and some food, but not much else on the list. What can we use for water filters?

Someone told me the supply center has nothing left. I haven't seen any of them myself, but either way it doesn't sound good.

I'll be there.

They make portable ones now, one of the wonders of the future. Beats the pants off flying cars. Look for a container labeled "Brita."

Definitely not good, unless your primary food source is people. Sadly I know a few of those back home...

Great.

...that's not funny.

We'll probably need an ax to break down any wood we find. We could probably make use of a lot of the furniture that no one is using.

Should be a fire axe around here somewhere. If not, we can check a camping store.
