Fanmix → Community → Britta Perry → Her fog, Her amphetamine and Her pearls

This is an angsty little mix based on Britta's journey over the course of season one, ending with her very, very sad humiliation in the finale (an episode I still have big issues with). It's a little heavy, but I hope you like it anyway.

1. DARK ROAD - ANNIE LENNOX
Maybe I'm still searchin'
But I dont know what it means
All the fires of destruction are still
Burnin' in my dreams
There's no water that can wash away
This longin' to come clean

2. FRAGILE - DELTA GOODREM
Six thoughts at once I can't focus on one
Seven days a week but my life has just begun
So caught in emotion and I'm overcome
As I'm falling down I come undone

Sometimes I feel like I'm alone
Sometimes I feel like I'm not that strong
Sometimes I feel so frail so small
Sometimes I feel vulnerable
Sometimes I feel a little fragile
A little fragile

3. DIZZY - GOO GOO DOLLS
You're cynical and beautiful
You always make a scene
You're monochrome delirious
You're nothing that you seem
I'm drowning in your vanity
Your laugh is your disease
You're dirty and you're sweet
You know you're everything to me

4. SHE SAYS - HOWIE DAY
I don’t know where I’m coming from.
And I don’t know where I’m coming to.
And I don’t know what it means to me.
And you don’t know what it means to you.

5. LIKE A WOMAN - BOB DYLAN
Queen Mary, she's my friend
Yes, I believe I'll go see her again
Nobody has to guess
That Baby can't be blessed
Till she finally sees that she's like all the rest
With her fog, her amphetamine and her pearls
She takes just like a woman, yes she does
She makes love just like a woman, yes she does
And she aches just like a woman
But she breaks just like a little girl.

6. HANDS CLEAN - ALANIS MORISSETTE
Ooh this could be messy
But you don't seem to mind
Ooh don't go telling everybody
And overlook this supposed crime

We'll fast forward to a few years later
And no one knows except the both of us
And I have honored your request for silence
And you've washed your hands clean of this

7. AT SEVENTEEN - JANIS IAN
I learned the truth at seventeen
That love was meant for beauty queens
And high school girls with clear skinned smiles
Who married young and then retired
The valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
Were spent on one more beautiful
At seventeen I learned the truth
