I think a lot of people actually liked the next (i.e. previous) one more - though I don't know that I did. There were things I liked more about Fire, but the whole question of the rightful possessors of power (the Rightful Heir and more) kind of got to me as well. The overcoming of the Big Bad could be said to be less zappy, but I also felt a bit that the Big Bad (person) was a bit unnecessary. I'd be very interested to see what you thought if you did read it though! (I owe you an email, BTW - every time I try to sit down and do emails, something happens. Soon.)
Well, I think I'll probably read Fire, either when it comes out in pb, or when I can get it at the library. I enjoyed Graceling - maybe more than the above would suggest. I think she writes well, and the characters are interesting.
