I think the correct grammar is "are mourning", is that what you're talking about?
So listen to this: I go to Houston, come back AN HOUR LATE TO A STUDY GROUP, and the group isn't even there. I don't know anyone's numbers, and run around the library for about 30 minutes trying to find them. Nothing.

That my friend, is a sucky end to an evening.

They could even say, "Friends and family mourn the loss..." Using "-ing" all the time sounds a bit awkward to me. But I'm not an English major.

Those slackers. Fire them all and take the full grade.
