Oh my, this is utterly brilliant. I've been wary of reading Joker/Batman (because twisted, yikes!), but this, this was awesome. You've captured the Joker's voice so very well, I can hear him in your words. The description, vivid bordering on madness, is just wonderful.

Ah, wow! I absolutely loved that! You write, and capture characters, settings and everything so incredibly well! When I first started reading, I was having a difficult time with makeup-less Joker, because it seems like without the makeup he's just ordinary, but you are right. Only the warped, puckered corners of his mouth hint at the mind beneath. :)

And for some reason. I think it may be the timing, or just the simplicity of the sentence. But my favourite line in the whole story was this: There is a heartbeat, there in the darkness.

Anyways, you totally blew me away! :D

I had such a hard time getting used to that at first -- I felt like he was less of the Joker without all the pomp, but I quickly realized the fact that he was still himself underneath was really all that mattered. And I'm so very glad that line worked for you - it was one of those I wanted to write so badly but wasn't completely sure about, so reassurance is most lovely!

Gah! Thank you so very much, that was my absolute favorite paragraph to write (you know - fingers flying madly, mind rambling over itself in an effort to get it all out), so I'm thrilled it was just as good to read (and ended up readable at all).

And about the smut -- I tend to alternate between said detailed fuck scenes and the subtle ones like this (it's all about the mood I'm in), but I tend to feel volumes better about myself after finishing a brand of the latter. So I'm glad it's appreciated on both ends. ;)
