I <3 Dixon & the new Radiohead

Oct 10, 2007 11:09

Found another good mix by Mr. Dixon.

That last mix of his that runehog posted has gotten the most plays of any mix I've downloaded this year. Hope he comes to SF soon!

I still need to listen to this too...

The album actually sounds pretty good for 160 kbps. And that's a perfect bit rate for portable audio players anyways.

I want to listen to the album *before* I decide how much to pay for it, since I have mixed opinions of different Radiohead albums. I really love-to-death about half of "Kid A" and "Amnesiac", but "Hail To The Thief" was one big "meh" to me. I've never heard their earlier albums, although that song "Creep" was pretty catchy)

160kbps is fine. There have been blind comparison studies showing that at that bit-rate with VBR, none of the test subjects (including self-described audiophiles) could tell the MP3 apart from a higher-bit-rate MP3 or from a CD.

yeah, I rarely can tell the difference until I listen on good headphones with the different bit rates played back to back.
