I'm not sure a more all-encapsulating description of Pitchfork's whole aesthetic could be possible. The Onion nailed it.

You've of course seen David Cross's retaliatory Pitchfork parody, right? He wrote it in response to a lousy review he got of one of his comedy albums. It's pure gold.
