I'm not normally a fan of anything that smacks of songfic, but this is marvelous. I feel like you took sketchy canon characters and fleshed them out beautifully. Pansy's choices feel authentic and Cormac's response match well with character we met in HBP. Most of all, though, you made my heart bleed for them both. Brava!

This was one of my prompts, and you did such a fantastic job with fleshing out the song! (I lurve me some Garth Brooks -- am still super bummed I never got to see a live show before he quit touring). Pansy's angst at Cormac's infidelity, her unease at showing affection, her friendship with her ex after their break, it all felt very true to life and real for me.

Would love to see a follow-up eventually showing Pansy as a single mum (or, alternatively, how she and Cormac deal with the fallout from this night after the baby is born). Great job! :D
