Hi, Renee here! You may have seen me in my many guises as Con Suite mistress (working duds, French maid outfit on Friday, Ren garb at Saturday lunch, cowgirl for Saturday dinner) over the weekend. If not, I hope you at least got to see and enjoy the food we made available to you!
I owe many thanks to many people. I'm reluctant to try to name everyone, though, because I know there are people who helped a lot that I'd undoubtedly forget, especially since there are a few of you whose names I never learned! So, instead, I'll thank people by categories:
Thanks to everyone who cooked in advance of the Con and brought food! Your entrees were delicious, and contributed to a wonderful Con Suite that had something for nearly everyone!
Thanks to everyone who helped with advance shopping, or with fill-in shopping after I got on site! It made my life much easier than you can ever imagine.
Thanks to everyone who helped with food prep on site! Your time and efforts were essential to the Con Suite's ability to function well.
Thanks to everyone who helped with Con Suite in other ways -- from helping set up the space, to making sure everything was well stocked, to helping transport food from downstairs to upstairs (or in reverse). Because of the refrigerator situation your help was far more important than ever before, and I thank you for it!
I'd also like to give a personal thanks to my sweetie, Teem. If it weren't for his help with many of these things (and others), I'd never have survived. Thanks, sweetie!
And now, for the other stuff I did over the weekend: I was Miss Elizabeth Bennet in Now Spit!!!, the respectable Englishwoman who, somehow, found herself an arms dealer impersonating a Mexican general, and Margoux Etherlinck, the Belgian humanitarian trying to find a workable plan to improve the lives of those in the Congo. Thanks to the GMs of those games for their writing and running efforts, and to all of my fellow players. You all helped make my out-of-con-suite experience fun!
Finally, I really do appreciate feedback about the con suite. So if you have any thoughts that you think I might find useful, please do feel free to send them to me via the con suite address on the G website, or likely the H website if it's up. Thanks!
And last but not least, thanks to everyone who ate in the Con Suite! The thing that makes being the Con Suite Mistress fun is knowing that people are eating varied foods that make them happy and lead to a more enjoyable con experience overall. You are a wonderful group to cook for, and I thank you all for making my job so rewarding!
