When M was a child, his father used to watch classic movies with him, even the boring ones that kids didn't want to see. He considered it an important part of cultural literacy.

I like barbecue quite a bit. But.....
Since getting food poisoning from Rudy's - many years back - I haven't really been able to eat there. I think I've had a loaded baker a couple of times, and maybe their breakfast tacos, but not their staple barbecue action.

So yeah, in this case, IHOP wins for food. It doesn't hurt that I can feed my whole household there fairly healthy fare for very cheap (they have a killer kids-eat-free deal). :D

The second one is a better pun, but you should _never_ reference negative things in a slogan, because that's what people remember.

The second place is also a well-established local barbecue joint, with routine lines out the door. They have another slogan that advertises them as "The Worst Barbecue In Texas".

Maybe it works for them because Austin is also a college town? I dunno.

Aaah, sounds like they have themselves a gimmick. If it's working for them then that's great - I'd have thought they were making life difficult for themselves, but with a student crowd they might be having better luck.
