Well, here I am. I made it to Springfield, Illinois last night and then an easy drive today. I'm still figuring out the plan of action and learning my parents' routines and how I can best be of use. Socializing will happen once I've gotten a feel for things. More later, as the squash needs checking.

A bit emotional at times, yes. My father is not doing well. I'm hoping to talk to his doctor to get the full story as my dad is a bit forgetful these days. Fortunately, they have good healthcare providers here. Thanks for the good thoughts.

I don't watch hockey, but now I have a picture of you body-checking a person in a giant foam butternut squash costume (a la the pudding from Sleeper) in your parents' kitchen. With the cat no doubt helping.

squash court? Really? Talk to the DA and see if they'll allow the case in racquetball instead. Easier to swat and hurts less when hit.
