I TOTALLY keyed in on the "This" in that little piece of dialogue. I suppose it could mean "this love thing that we were talking about," but we all know it at least metaphorically meant "this love between you and I." That's my story and I'm stickin' to it;)

if I didn't know any better about tv show couples moving forward in freaking baby steps, I would have sworn he meant "them"... referring to the two of them moving forward. Opinions?

I think it's like they have this unspoken understanding, that when she believes, it will be them.

That's what I think. Booth just HAS to know, and I don't think Brennan would be doing all this questioning if she didn't have a specific man in mind.
