Round 41: Inspirations

Round 41: Wrap It Up
At this point in your life, you might notice that our inspiration post is looking a little different than normal...but that's just because we wanted to take some time out of a busy month to get in the holiday spirit. For the first ten days of this round, all we ask is that you provide us with some things that inspire YOU. Be it songs, graphics, textures, fonts, words, or other things we haven't thought of, let us know what makes your muse tick. Post your inspirations (or a link to them) in a comment to this post. And on day 10, check back to see what the rest of the round will entail!

To start things off, we thought we'd share some of our favorite things with you...

I went way back in my inspiration folder to find some of the pieces that stuck with me back when I was trying to
establish my style. In order, we have: weird texture use, different caps on different levels, silhouettes and
fake backgrounds, bright colors + lighting + blur, and close crops with text on face.

Two of my favorite texture sets. The first is great for adding shape and color, the second has superior grunge options :D

A great script and a great sans font. I use a lot of fonts, so it was hard to pick!

Pacifico by Vernon Adams・Orator Std by John Scheppler

I made three color palettes based on icons or groups of icons posted to my comm. It's not anywhere close
to all the color combos I use, but I had to narrow down somewhere...

I usually try to find weirdass music to listen to while iconning in hopes of inspiring myself to be more ~out there~.
I'm not saying it works, but here's a couple songs from two of my favorite iconning mixes.

Quite simply my favourite colour schemes to work with, especially the orange one. Palettes 2 and 3 were named
after the themes of the icons of mine I got the colours from and palette 1 was me thinking about heartwarming
colours that reminded me of holiday time.

Rainfall by Yosuke Masaki

Jellyka Castle's Queen by Jellyka Nerevan

I was overusing the Intro font a lot so I started looking for an alternative and fell in love with 'Rainfall'.
Rainfall + a fancy handtwritten font, especially a Jellyka one = win. I picked 'Castle's Queen' because
it reminds me of fairy tales...

My go-to texture packs. Fake background possibilities and things I can set to Screen? You've got me!

Blue, negative space, great background compositions and text work... Also I really, really love looking at blue things.

Have fun and may inspiration be with you! ♥
