The Allegretto movement is the best part, da? And it sounds like a march, repeating over and over, with flourishes at a time. There is quiet in places, and it starts with a larger theme. It is very much sounding like trumpets and strings and flutes every now and again.
It sounds magnificent... I can't wait for Shostakovich to finish writing it so I can actually hear it for myself. I assume it was inspired by Ludwig's betrayal?
Oh! Da, I am very, very fond of that one, as well! He was so young when he composed it, and so skilled already. He is very much one of my newest favorites.
That seems to be a trend with great composers, doesn't it? Being young and brilliant. I would say that he was one of my newest favourites as well, but as I'm old and a time traveller and he's actually one of my oldest, more or less, that might be lying a bit.

That is what they say. They say he began writing it the day Germany invaded. So it is all about a knife to the back.

Just a little bit, but the intent is there. Music lasts longer than the moment it was written, da? It is...timeless, in a fashion.
