Thank you. When I heard the prompt, I went brain dead. Then it occurred to me that the biggest myth of all that anyone has a clue what it's like to be a parent before it actually happens. So, I went with it.

It is very true, I love that you adapted that to "myth" I thought I knew a lot about being a parent but whether adopted or not EACH CHILD is such an INDIVIDUAL that even if you are around kids and think, "I could do this" the child you get will be different and the fact that you are their parent will cause your interactions to be different than they would if you are their sibling/aunt/sitter/teacher.

Well, I was going to save more but my youngest of 3 is now in my lap.

You don't have to answer this but I am curious, if you want to.

Do you have kids? Do you have experience with adoption or is this fiction?
