Woohoo, have fun! I took my first 2-day baby-break when he was 14 months old (though it was to go to a conference, not relax in a hotel room), and it was EXCELLENT. I almost felt guilty for not feeling guilty enough about it, but I was 110% happy just to get a break. (I'd been a mostly-SAHM up to that point, and had long since confirmed my lack of desire to ever be a SAHM). You enjoy it, they'll be fine!
I remember that. I spent the first half an hour racked with anxiety but then kind of forgot about everything except relaxing and eating real food with forks. Enjoy it!
My out was a work trip, too, but no less glorious for it. We couldn't have afforded it otherwise.
I have such the book that I want to loan to you and the Captain, if you have not read it already. It is Tooth And Claw by Jo Walton and it is a Trollope-esque Victorian romance, except all the characters are dragons, and there's a fair bit of them eating each other, and it is downright delightful.
