Music that just came out? Bands you've never heard before? Albums by bands that you may have heard, but never really listened to?
I think at any given time, I could buy 50 CDs. It's pretty weird.
Here's some records I've been thinking about getting soon, once I got some money coming:
Oingo Boingo - Lad
Forbidden Zone Soundtrack
Josephine Baker - Some sweet disc with "La Petite Tonkinoise."
Cake - Any Album
Also, there are some sweet local bands that you can buy CDs of down at Vintage Vinyl, including:
The Ottomen
The Baysayboos
The Whole Sick Crew
The Monads
Local music rocks, not only because it rocks, but it's also free of any sort of media hype. That is, you can rest assured that you like it because it's neat, not because any mass-media tricked you into liking it. The Ottomen are totally damned sweet. So are all the bands on that list. i think i could walk into any music store on the planet and pick out 50 cds in less than ten minutes.
i didn't know The Whole Sick Crew had a record out. i've been meaning to catch a show, being that i've known the guys for years, and everything i've read about the band has given me the impression that i'd like them, but it still hasn't happened.
i'm chilling on some painkillers, gettin' all fuzzy.
