For those who served in Iraq especially Mosul

I'm always bothered by how much a citation for heroism doesn't show us.
Behind everyone of those plaques and medals is a story almost too incredible to believe.
When I was at Fort Wainwright, AK I had a chance to interview SFC Peter Lara a Silver Star Recipient. Needless to say, his experience in Mosul was quite different than mine.

Yeah I think about that too. Because I know what bullshit a lot of those citations are and the write up that goes along with rank and how some units want to make sure that no one gets left out! E4s and below here's an ARCOM, E5s-E6s, have a MSM. E7...you get a Bronze Star!

Awards are bullshit. Once you get enough to max the promotion points it's just decoration on a uniform that gets broken out for weddings and funerals.
