I was driving some guys from APOD to their housing area (because they'd been waiting > 1 hour in the dust since the buses stopped running, and I felt sorry for them)

Turned into a 1+ hour adventure since KBR no longer runs a 24x7 housing office, but instead relies on the mayor's cell. Woo.

It's not so much fun driving when you can only see 5-10' in front of you, and only on the ground. I almost ran over a HMMWV in my little pickup truck (I would have lost, I think).

Also, suicidal TCNs wearing headphones and no reflectors, walking diagonally across roads, during dust storms at night -- woo!

We were lucky and only got one early in the deployment, but we got plenty of rain (and the worst mud evar) in the winter.

Luckily, I was inside when it blew in, but everything in my room is still covered in a fine layer of dust. Yech.

Dude, THAT SUCKED ASS! I got caught outside for about 20 minutes at about 2220. I'm still cleaning my weapon.

I'm leaving in a couple weeks, but I have the idea I'll be finding sand in various places (on my body or in my stuff) for several months yet...
