Man, I musta been going to the wrong nerd camps when I was in school. New Horizons and Summer Scholars, laaame. Then again, I went to Poughkeepsie schools, so I'm sure as usual all the cool stuff was reserved for the better schools. I need to go back and tell them that the poor education and lack of opportunities there drove me to a life of vice...and give the few teachers I liked illustrated examples hahaha.
CTY is a program for kids from 7th grade up to age 16. you need to take the SAT and send them yer scores to go. you take one college-level class for 3 weeks whilst staying at a college. it's full of weird traditions and all sorts of fun things. the sense of acceptance is overwhelming. it's a really awesome place. the only catch: it costs $3000 per 3-week session. so yeah. they do give scholarships though.
