I suppose as a kid I was disappointed at the lack of female lead characters. Of course that all changed with the arrival of Jessie. Bo had a minor supporting role, but then came Mrs. Potato Head and Barbie.

What I didn't like was the whole "Andy's toys think Woody murdered Buzz" that took up most of the film, but that's more due to personal taste than a criticism against the movie itself.("What have we done?" "Great, now I have guilt!")

This. That scene was dark and frightening. And I didn't like the rivalry between Woody and Buzz, either. Well, I didn't like how possessive Woody was of Andy. It's like he was the human and Andy was the toy.

Agreed on "You Got a Friend in Me". A classic. I remember the "Strange Things" song but it wasn't as memorable.

Sid was one deranged kid. I certainly hope none of the kids in the audience who were watching the movie would have mimicked his behavior.

Oh, God, I cannot wait for your review on A Bug's Life! I love that one so much! :D

I remember seeing this in the theaters as a kid. More than that, I remember there ACTUALLY being a line to get in the theater showing it. How many movies can boast that now? Can't think of any. Course, maybe theater staff have gotten smarter and handle things better now, but still, this movie was a loving hype magnet.

I also remember seeing it again at Totally Toy Story at the El Capitan theater back in December 1995. I remember seeing it mentioned on the Disney Channel and thinking "I wanna go to this SO bad, but it's in California and I'm on the other side of the country. *sigh*." Luckily, that same year was my Grandparents 50th wedding anniversary and we flew out there for a party and we stayed with my grandparents neighbor's place and lucky me, they lived WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE.

It was the best thing ever. this is the only real article I could find on it. Good times, great memories.
