Hey guys! Wanna know how infamously glitchy Sonic 2006 is? Here ya go!

I've been watching the LP of Sonic 2006 to pass the time when Jean wasn't reading Homestuck with me, and lately, I've been getting a strange sense of nostalgia from my time in Sonic fandom. Hell, after I talked to Sipp on Plurk, I felt inspired to make an RP account for E-102 ( Read more... )

my god these games are bad, smut, uh oh puri's thinking, plot bunnies, stuff only puri cares for, video, sonic the hedgehog, i have no taste whatsoever, fandom, sonadow, shadow, i pick the worst fandoms, kink meme, satam, past me was a moron, fanfiction, gaming, i need less tags, writing woes

Ahhh, Sonic. So many great memories. I don't really care for the newer games, but I wouldn't call myself an elitest in any sense of the word. I'm still holding out hope for a really good sonic game again.

And there needs to be a new Sonic kink meme. Because I'd be all over that.

Yeah, I haven't really played any of the newer games since Shadow the Hedgehog, haha. XD (I watched the Sonic 2006 cutscenes, but that was it. I never played the game itself, and let's just say it's for the best. XDDD) I've been hearing good things about Sonic Generations from a friend who was only really into Classic Sonic, so that's piquing my interest. :o *crosses fingers*

That'd be nice! Sonic fandom on LJ seems kinda dead now though, which makes me sad. There was a ton of stuff back then! :o

Oh, Sonic. Sonic will always be my first and most precious fandom, the only one that's followed me from my childhood into my adult years. I made a mushy entry about all that earlier this year on Sonic's birthday:

http://private-enemy.livejournal.com/158215.html

Yes, over the past few years, my association with and enthusiasm for the fandom itself has waned a lot for various reasons, and other fandoms have eaten up my time as of late (most specifically MLP: FiM), but I still love, and always will love, Sonic. Yes, Sonic's had some bad years but I think he's been getting back on his feet so to speak recently. I had fun with Shadow The Hedgehog too, even if it really was an awful game and it frustrated the hell out of me at times. :P

I have a copy of Sonic Generations for the PS3 waiting to be opened on Christmas morning, and I'm genuinely excited to play it. :D

tl;dr Sonic ♥

Oh Sonic. He's like a symbol of hope somehow. No matter what kind of crap happens, he zips by in our hearts with that blasted grin. ;;

I've been a fan of Mario longer than Sonic (though I certainly "knew" of Sonic as a kid), and didn't really get into him until I was in my mid-teens, but now that it's been a few years, it's... waaaah. I'm feeling the nostalgia for him too. Which was why I was surprised to hear about Sonic Generations at first, thinking it was fanart and then, "...Oh my gosh. This is a real game."

I had fun with Shadow The Hedgehog too, even if it really was an awful game and it frustrated the hell out of me at times. :P

Don't forget the cliches and the painful dialogue! :P THIS IS WHO I AM.

I've been saying this since I started fangirling him, but you can't be a fan of Original the Character Shadow without making fun of him. ;D

...Oh my god. After posting this comment, I'm imagining Shadow and Fluttershy having a conversation. Shadow would intimidate the living hell out of her then suddenly... THE STARE. Fluttershy is absolutely going to own him.

Fluttershy, you're more epic than ever.

Famous words uttered by a friend at Comic-Con '10.

"I stopped caring about Sonic when Sega stopped caring about Sonic".

Good to see them giving a damn about him again. I don't think I've ever seen a mascot go from "Oh boy!" to "Oh god no" quite the way Sonic did. Every mascot has their ups and downs (or in Bubsy's case, just downs) but Sonic has taken forever to rebound.

And speaking of unbeatable due to glitches, I own a used copy of "True Crime: Streets of LA" which is unbeatable without a cheat device because the disc is scratched in a key area so whenever you reach that point in the game the car FALLS THROUGH THE GROUND. Unless it does that on purpose to simulate California's geological unpredictability. Once you pass it, it magically shifts into glorious WTF.

I've heard horror stories about the gameplay of 2006, but holy shit, I had no idea it was that bad. But it's like everytime there's a mission, it goes to a loading screen. Then you're told what the mission is again, and you get ANOTHER loading screen before it even begins. Even the regular action levels can't escape from loading screens! I'm not even exaggerating!

I've actually heard good things about Sonic Generations, which may get me interested into playing again. :o Not to mention Sonic CD is being re-released this December, with the option to switch between the American/European AND Japanese soundtracks, and unlocking a mode where you could play as Tails. DO WAAAANT.

Gameplay begins (but not before loading!), you drove outside of the currently loaded part of the city (loading!). And these load screens go on forever. I've never seen longer screens, and I've been through the PSX and early CD-Rom days ( ... )

Oh the Sonic 2006 LP, a thing of horrid beauty. I'm actually watching the Sonic Unleashed one right now and all I can do is giggle at everything.

I have Sonic to owe for getting me interested in video games in the first place, so he will always have a special place in my heart.

Can't say I'm a hardcore fan of Sonic though I did use to play some of the games and watched the animated series when I was younger. Ah, nostalgia.
