sunset sunrise

I've been having a hard time getting through the Fujimi book Sunset, Sunrise (God, what volume am I at now? it's so confusing...). It's painful to read because Yuki (and others) struggles a lot in it. I know it'll pay off but it's still hard because I care about the characters. I've been skipping around the volume and have probably read most of it ( Read more... )

during sex, no less...such a multitasker, that one!

Can't remember what book it's in, but I remember one scene where Kei is telling Yuuki something (serious and TOTALLY unromantic) he was thinking about during sex, and Yuuki is like, "THAT'S what you were thinking about while we were having sex??" and Kei says, "Well, I have to distract myself so I can last longer." Kei cracks me up so much. XD

*laughs* Kei is such fun, especially when he's deadly serious (like his declarations of love--romantic, but hilarious too).

Isn't that line about having a bad dream and squashing it the beginning of the whole arc (or sub-arc, I dunno) where he's suppressing his fears and having nightmares and refusing to talk to Yuuki about them, and Yuuki has to drag it out of him? I've only caught bits of that arc from skimming, but I remember thinking "Oh, so THAT'S what that line meant."

I agree, Kei is terrifyingly locked-down, probably from having to deal with his crazy family. It's so nice to see him gradually let go of some of that control around Yuuki, although it doesn't come easily. And that Yuuki is stubborn enough to fight him until he opens up.

(LOL on Yuuki's stubbornness. I love that every time another character is talking about Yuuki to someone else, they're all "He's very sweet and takes care of people, but watch out for that stubborn pride of his!" Other people always know us better than we know ourselves.)

I love how he's called that stubborn git from Echigo by his violin teacher. He'd had to have been stubborn to get where he is musically considering just how disadvantaged he was (son of a farmer in the middle of nowhere who started playing rather late in life for a pro).
