anime watching day!

I finally saw Toki wo kakeru shojo, a movie from 2006 that was very well received. I liked that it was about an ordinary tomboy student and how she deals with the ability to time travel. Since she's not that bright and not malicious, she uses her power for silly reasons. It was exasperating but fun to watch her at first find it great, but then ( Read more... )

Ahaha... yup. Exact same reaction to Uragiri right here. LOL So, so cheesy. But I kind of expected it already because the trailers were already too cheesy for me ^^;\

And... I don't like the choice they made for Yuki's voice. I think that was my biggest issue. No offense to Hoshi-san's fans, I think he did an awesome job in other roles (like as Goku in Saiyuki, Sunao in Sukisyo etc) but I just think they should've gotten a much more... umm... "frail"-sounding voice for Yuki to suit his soft character.

Ahh.... Hyakujitsu no Bara. T__T I also think those two kicked ass, they were so so awesome in their roles. (Plus I'm already their fan to begin with XD) The bg music in the 2nd OVA was really impressive for me. The art was pretty, but definitely not as gorgeous as sensei's in the manga. But yep. I also feel like they messed up somewhere. >.>;;

I think the mini extra in the first volume did a better job summarizing the story than the actual OVA XD

I hadn't seen the trailers, but I assumed it would be bad. But it was worse! *dies*

I agree with you that Yuki's voice should've been more fragile. He sounds too normal. The whole point is that he seems totally weak but is actually not.

I think I'll stick with the manga and the drama cds for Hyakujitsu no bara. I don't know if I can stomach the second OVA...
