Okay, I went to Yu-Jyo because they have the summary for #185 up now. I just remembered a day or two ago that Siegfried is sometimes called "Jeek/Jeeks/Jik" and it says on #185 that the butler calls him that. My question is, Where did that come from? ...if I remember correctly, the Japanese pronounciation of his name was something along the lines of "Jikuroid", which people have been translating as Jeek Roid, Sieg Lloyd, and every other variation of for awhile now...at least as far as the earliest KCGP fics were concerned. The one or two hardcore Grand Prix fans I know of pretty much stick with "Sieg" for casual conversation, and Siefried for the rest of the time...but non-Japanese names don't translate well into Japanese (e.g - Malik to Mariku, Isis to Ishizu, Rishid/Rashid to Rishido, Kris to Kurisu, Blue Eyes White to Buru Aizo Howaito, etc.), thus the rampant variations throughout the fandom, as everyone scrabbles to get things "right".

Jinx.... LOL. That makes me think of that annoying villain on Teen Titans.

I'll probably go with Ladyamberjo's explanation that it was a really bad Japanese pronounciation that got misheard as "Jeek" and all that other stuff. **laughs.**
