Too much mush, already!

Ugggh, I have spent about ninety minutes wrestling with LJ, trying to find, read, and tag entries about The Fugitive, Route 66, Kojak, Charlie's Angels, and Vega$, as I've talked about them enough that they need to graduate from the "TV Shows" tag and get their own. I probably need to do the same thing with Get Smart, but that will have to wait. If ( Read more... )

Hi! I have a question for you, since you have been watching reruns of "The Fugitive." What is the name of the ep. where Kimble gets shot in the shoulder and winds up in a hospital? Gerard finds him and Kimble says "What are you going to do, strap me to the hood of your car?" I've been trying to watch that ep when The Fugitive airs, but no luck. It's my favorite ep. besides the two-part ending. The character "Richard Kimble" is based on Dr.Sam Sheppard whose wife was killed by a supposed intruder. Sheppard was charged with her death. Anyway, his home where this murder occurred is 20 minutes from my house and the hospital where he practices is where I did part of my clinical training in nursing. Wierd huh?

Hi! Funny thing is, I just watched that episode via the disc from Netflix. Telly Savalas (Kojak) guest-stars. It is a very good one indeed! It's May God Have Mercy from season 2.

Roy Huggins the creator always denied he based the show on that case, but it does seem suspicious, especially since someone connected with the case had a connection with someone on the crew. In any case, that is very interesting that you're that close to the house and hospital!

Thanks for that info. I think my library system carries that show. I remember all the hoopla around that show with it's ties to Lakewood. Ohio. Everyone believed it was the Sam Sheppard case made into a TV show. There were too many coincidences for it not to be related.

Awesome! A library system is such a wonderful thing. I wish the libraries in this county would stop being so silly and form a system. Our local library just doesn't have much.

True, there are a lot of similarities. It would seem likely that Roy Huggins took some inspiration from the case even if he really didn't intend for the TV show to be the case fictionalized.
