Winnie the Pooh and more weird dreams too.

So money has been so hard to come by lately that I finally broke down and did something I had vowed never to do: I started writing some articles for the lowest-paying category at Textbroker. I was desperate; the site isn't how it used to be and most everything for the better categories was too technical or about locales I didn't know about and ( Read more... )

On the subject of Winnie the Pooh, I feel obligated to link you to this:

On the subject of Goosebumps books, I read a metric butt-ton of those back in the '90s, and never found them to be overly creepy, really. Actually I remember being deeply offended that the vicious evil dogs in one book were black Labs (honestly, they're one of the most affectionate, intelligent breeds! They raise them as helper and therapy dogs for a reason!). There were things here and there that were a little scary, but the Fear Street books were gorier, and honestly nothing did it for me as well as Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Also I have to call BS on "no deaths in the books." I can think of at least one instance of a named character being killed, and more occasions of deaths being referred to.

Wow, that last panel is gory. But I am amused by the basic idea. LOL. So I am not the only one wondering WTH is going on.

Yeah, I read that they're not really scary/creepy. I believe it; the image I ended up with is that it sounds like they make fun of things, which doesn't bode well for any books involving my hated trope. Blech. And that doesn't sound cool about the black Labs, either.

Thanks for the info. I thought it was strange if there wasn't any death.
