Fics

Nov 26, 2010 09:00

... I've been wondering why I haven't seen someone around lately. I thought they simply weren't around. I just discovered that they de-Friended me again, which makes it so I can't see their posts in their friends-only journal. **yawns.** And the cycle continues. If the person's reasons from the past are still the case, apparently I just don't post ( Read more... )

LOL. Yeah, it goes back and forth. We connect for a bit, then she de-friends me, then after a while she contacts me again.... **shakes head.**

Unfortunately it's not online (except for a few bad quality episodes on YouTube, it seems), but since you can play Region 1 DVDs maybe you'd be interested in getting one of the seasons at a point when you have more time. ^^ It's a really fun, cute show.

Well, it's a fic, not a pic, but I probably will be illustrating it. ;)

**nods.** Yeah, that's true. Shipping costs are such a pain!

Maybe you'd want to try one of the YouTube episodes first, even with the bad quality, to see if you like it before buying. ^^; Patty the Chatterbox is a good one (and it has slightly better video quality than most of them). Plus, it has the Autor guy. LOL.

That happens sometimes. XD

I've had people defriend me too at random and can't figure out why. Sometimes I do figure out why and simply tilt my head at why such a small issue made them defriend me. It's just... *sigh*

Yeah, I'm not sure which is worse: to know or not to know. I remember the first time it happened with this person, I was highly upset, even distraught. Now I am slightly irritated but mostly rolling my eyes.

It's happened to me enough times that I just roll my eyes. One of the people who defriended me I know why and it was partially my fault for talking about an incident in my journal but she decided to defriend me over it even though the incident itself wouldn't have been one if she didn't make it out to be.

It was over her getting mad at me for telling her "To understand Kingdom Hearts you need to play it." and she got into a huff and accused me of trying to make her play KH and stuff even though she was the one whining how convoluted and confusing KH is (yet she didn't play all the games...)

At that point I was like "...okay, whatever floats your boat."

Yep, it goes back and forth. **mushroom sigh.** Oy vey. We connect, she de-friends after a while, then eventually she contacts me again....

LOL. Probably.

That's a good description of how it goes! Yes, I miss the familiar minor characters. ;__;

I love Ross. He's a hilarious snarker. And he has glasses.

Happy Thanksgiving! ^^

Newkirk officially gives his "Wot?" look at whoever that is who keeps friending/de-friending you.

I like that Amnesty Day policy they instated last year. ^^ I haven't used it yet, but I still think it's a good idea.

I probably should've asked this before, but what exactly is the Patty Duke show? Sitcom? Drama? Classic? New-ish? XD; Anyway, glad you're enjoying it and the Autor lookalike. ^^

In all the years I've known her, I've long ago come to the conclusion that she just doesn't grasp how rude it looks. But that doesn't stop me from feeling exasperated.

I think I've used it a couple of times.

It's more of a domestic comedy, made in 1963-1966. And a domestic comedy of course means deeper characters and plots than your average sitcom. Most episodes have some kind of moral, but it doesn't hit you over the head. It's always integrated very nicely.

Hmm, I think the de-friending-thing is certainly not meant to be rude. Maybe she is just very fastidious about her friends-list and doesn't want someone to see that you are on her list? Or just wants to have people there who always comment to her entries. De-friending you because she doesn't want to read your entries doesn't make sense since she could customize her friends-page so that your entries don't show up (or is it something only paid members have? *am not sure about that). De-friending somebody prevents them from reading your friends-only posts though. Maybe she doesn't want you to read posts which are too personal?

I tend to de-friend inactive journals (people who never post, never comment, and seemingly don't visit that account any more) because I'm paranoid about somebody misusing that account to read my friends-only entries which often contain personal things. I never got the idea that somebody could be offended over that, though, since it's not like breaking off a real friendship or so.

Well, see, I know this girl quite well and she told me herself in the past that the reason she de-Friended me the first time was because she didn't want to read my entries. And at the time, I was very active commenting on her stuff.

You're right, it isn't like terminating a real friendship, especially if it's being done for the reasons you did it. It's possible that that was her motive this time. This time around, however, she apparently also booted me from her IM list, so we have no way to communicate at all anymore. And after the long time we've known each other, it does discourage me a bit.

Btw, I'm more concerned about people who friend all of my journals and have over 1000 friends and no entries, and never communicate. I always wonder: What do they want from me? They don't even seem to read my fics. It's like they just collect me for their friends list. XD

I report journals like that as spammers and/or bots, depending on what they do.

Hmm, since that journal didn't do anything to me but friend, I don't know if I should report it. I don't want to accidentally report somebody who just doesn't have a life and likes to read random entries by thougsands of people.

True. It is very suspicious, though.
