ROFL.. I would love to have seen a vid of Jensen talking about this. As a rider myself, I too wondered at the size of that horse and if they purposefully selected a smaller animal for the comical visual, or was it to protect Jared (no idea if he's a seasoned rider) from getting hurt from a larger horse.

I must look for a video of Jensen going through all that but until that time, I really appreciated the pics telling the story. I hadn't heard that leak out from the con reports I'd read.

they did it for the comical value. Jared is not a seasoned rider but Genevieve is a very good rider (as proved in her 5 years on the show Wildfyre where she played a jockey) and she gave him some lessons last summer.
So the scene was actually a mediocre rider acting to be a bad rider :P

Jensen noted that the horse they seöected was so small that he could have just walked along with it ^^
